The Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA), in collaboration with Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Nairobi, successfully conducted a high-level CME session on Advances in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery & Interventional Cardiology on August 19, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The session brought together 92 doctors and featured distinguished experts from AKUH: Dr. Mzee Ngunga, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, and Dr. Brian Misoi, Consultant Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon. They shared valuable insights and experiences on liver tumor management and advanced cardiac interventions in Kenya.
The program was officially opened by Dr. Samuel Zerihun, EMA Board Member, who delivered the opening remarks and welcomed participants to the CME session.
The session was moderated by Dr. Mulualem Alemayehu, Interventional Cardiologist at ICMC, and Dr. Henok Teshome, General & Hepatobiliary Surgeon at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College.
Participants earned 2 CEUs and had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange experiences, and network with the visiting experts.
