Myungsung Medical College and the Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) celebrated National Doctors Day on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The event was held at MCM/MMC and was attended by government officials, faculty, staff, and students.

In his welcoming remarks, MMC Dean Prof. S.J. Kim expressed his gratitude to the doctors who work at MCM/MMC. “Our doctors work very hard, and we wanted to take this opportunity to recognize their hard work,” he said. He also thanked the EMA for organizing the event together with their Hospital.
State Minister of Health Dr. Ayele Teshome stressed the importance of doctors in serving the community. “Medical doctors are here to serve the community they are living and working with,” he said. He also encouraged doctors to continue their education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical knowledge.

Dr. Tegbar Yigzaw president of EMA, requested the Ministry of Health (MoH) to provide free medical care for doctors. He said that doctors are often exposed to diseases and injuries, and that they deserve access to free quality healthcare.
The event also included a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) awareness session and it is important for doctors to stay up-to-date on the latest medical knowledge.



MCM/MMC awarded doctors with awards: the Lifetime Physician Award and the Young Physician Award. The awardees thanked the whole staff who has been working with them and shared their experiences.
The 6th National Doctors Day closing was a chance to recognize the hard work of doctors and to emphasize the importance of their role in society.
