Dear Members of the Ethiopian Medical Association – Hawassa Chapter, and the wider medical community,
As many of you are already aware, our beloved colleague and mentor, Professor Amezene Tadesse, has passed away. We would now like to share the details of his upcoming funeral ceremony.
Professor Amezene was a deeply respected pediatric surgeon and teacher whose contributions to medicine in Ethiopia have left a lasting legacy. He will be remembered not only for his clinical excellence but also for his humility, dedication, and the many lives he helped shape.
We invite all colleagues, students, healthcare professionals, and friends to join us in honoring his life and work.
The funeral ceremony will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Hawassa St. Gabriel Monastery.
Let us gather to pay our final respects to a remarkable physician, educator, and true son of Hawassa.
