The Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) held a successful revitalization event for its Dessie branch office on June 16, 2024.
The program began with a session by Mr. Mulugeta Belachew, EMA’s Membership and Regional Affairs Officer. He emphasized the importance of the revitalization effort in strengthening EMA’s presence and impact in the Dessie region.
Following the introduction, Dr. Bahiru Bezabih, EMA Board Member, provided an overview of the organization’s current activities and future plans. He highlighted EMA’s ongoing initiatives to address challenges members are facing, and what EMA is currently doing for its members.
The event then transitioned to an interactive discussion session, where participants actively engaged with Dr. Bahiru and Mr. Mulugeta. Several pertinent questions and concerns were raised, reflecting the attendees’ commitment to the growth and success of EMA’s Dessie chapter.
The constructive dialogue led to several positive outcomes. Seven new EC (Executive Committee) members were elected to strengthen the chapter’s leadership, and members renewed their membership status, demonstrating their continued support for EMA’s mission.
The revitalization event was hailed as a significant step in reinvigorating EMA’s presence in the Dessie region. Participants left the gathering with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to work together in addressing the benefits of EMA members.
